Sheilah Rose-Luke was born in Montreal, Canada, in 1943 and has been a working artist for the past 35 years. Her work has been featured in group shows at the Trenton Museum in New Jersey and in the Princeton University Art Association Gallery, and she has participated in a traveling exhibition of works sponsored by Rutgers University, New Jersey. She was invited to produce a one woman show for the Monmouth County Park System in New Jersey. She also had a solo exhibition at the Kling Partnership of Architects in Philadelphia, and showings in Portland, Maine, and New Hampshire.
After traveling and painting in Europe for two years she moved to new England where she spent five years painting the stark beauty of the marsh lands in the Newburyport, Massachusetts area. For two years she owned and operated a restaurant and gallery in Ogunquit, Maine.
In 1986 she moved to Arizona where she had her own studio and exhibited her work. While living in Cave Creek, Arizona, she recognized the need to establish a gallery devoted to showing the works of contemporary, established and new artists living in the area, including her own. In 1993 she established "The Carefree Gallery". During the two years she had the gallery , she sold works by a number of local artists, including herself. The Gallery also offered a venue for musical events and poetry readings.
Sheilah is now living in California where she has her own studio, and has exhibited on the East Coast and locally. One of her works was chosen for the program cover for the 1997-1998 Season of the California Center for the Arts. In 2000 she participated in COVA's "200 Open Studio".
Sheilah Rose-Luke's paintings and sculptures are held in private collections in Canada, the U.S.A, Holland, Portugal, Switzerland, and France.
Her education includes studies at McGill University, Montreal, The Montreal Museum School, The National Academy of Design in N.Y.C., The Pennsylvania Academy of Art, and The University of New Hampshire.

Sheilah holds a BFA Degree and a certificate in Recreational Therapy.
